End of '09 show

We did our last show of '09, it was a mix of some older stuff, Revolution took the first half hour, plying 90's stuff. Flow took the second half hour playing a 'new' theme, song titles and groups featuring the word 'new' on a 'new year' tip. Revo spun the freestyles and Flow finished up the show playing 'old', strictly old school vinyl from before 1984.

movie again; Rhyme & Reason from 1997

"Rhyme & Reason is a 1997 documentary film about rap and hip hop. Documentary filmmaker Peter Spirer interviewed over 80 significant artists in rap and hip hop music. This documentary explores the history of hip hop culture, how rap evolved to become a major cultural voice (and a multi-billion dollar industry), and what the artists have to say about the music's often controversial images and reputation. Interview subjects range from veteran old-school rappers, such as Kurtis Blow, KRS-ONE and Chuck D., to gangsta rap icons Ice-T, Dr. Dre, and MC Eiht, to several current rap hitmakers, including Wu-Tang Clan, The Fugees, and Sean "Puffy" Combs.
The film includes footage of a memorial service for Tupac Shakur, as well as one of the last interviews with The Notorious B.I.G."

U.P. aftermath

Under Pressure 2009
I caught the end of this guy's set inside Foufounes Electriques, I didn't see him outside and was in awe of his stage presence, he was wearing an MPC or something akin to that, on his chest with wires trailing behind him and amazingly didn't sound muffled or like he was cuffing the mic. His name is C.O.N.C.E.P.T., he's part of a group called New World Side Order from NYC.

Budda talked about his trip to Toronto for NXNE (North by Northeast). Him, Penzo and Cordata made the trip down, it was a little rocky; cops, flats, not being on the playlist but listed on the flyer, all kinds of badness.

We also mentioned an upcoming benefit organized by some people who don't want to see Under Pressure die out, this is a night put together by Frank Blvd, Alan Cross and Scramblelock. T.O.'s Style in Progress and Cincinnati's Scribble Jam have already fallen to the stupid current financial panic climate. They usually put on their Friday nights for free, so go this week, throw a couple of bucks in the jar and then return on following weeks. Here's the event page; http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=102413346580 It's on Bleury just below Ste.Catherine, on the 2nd floor.

Ice Cube is coming to Montreal and we're going to run up and try to get a live drop from him, we want him to do a 'live and in the flesh' Yaaaheeyyaaayy from We Be Clubbin'.
